I am sure you’ve heard of the classic one: “A user interface is like a joke. If you need to explain it, it’s not that good.” The idea of intuitiveness should always be put on top of everything, but for some reason, there is a trend I observe in lots of countries. Many digital products are somehow prioritizing fancy functions that people would always feel that the apps and software we use are “just not enough”. We are always on the path of pursuing functionality but put behind our initial vision of making products easy to use and able to create that sparks of happiness for others. As designers and product managers, in the hustle and bustle of the current digital wave, it’s good to stop for a while and think deeper about qualities that make a good product. The product game should always be getting simpler but not the other way around.
